Watu. Wanyama.
People. Animals.
We're not that different.
We're currently looking for new members to be meeting and discussing ways of raising awareness, raising money and generally doing everything we can to help improve the lives of animals in Kenya, which will hopefully be in conjunction with other organizations such as the KSPCA, KWS and the Donkey Sanctuary.
Some of the projects I was thinking of pursuing are:
1. Raising money to improve standards at the KSPCA
2. Educating animal owners on the right/wrong way to train and treat animals and pets
3. Encourage people to adopt pets
4. Helping sick animals get veterinary care
5. Organising volunteering at the Donkey Sanctuary and the KSPCA as well as visits
6. STOP bullfighting in Kakamega
7. Work with the KWS and raise money for the fight against poaching
8. Promote sustainable tourism in game parks and marines
9. Anti-fur and "exotic" skins campaigns
10. Anti-animal testing campaigns
11. Boycotts
12.Interviews with vets and officials which will hopefully lead to an informative video/PSA
13.Fundraising projects:
- T-shirts
- Calendars
- Funny slogans
- Photography
- Music (concerts) and other performances
- Films and film-making
If you are interested in helping in any of these, or if you have even better ideas (which i'm sure you do) please give me a call or send an e-mail.
I can't do anything without members, so please email me on watu.wanyama@gmail.com or call 0705123067 for more information.
We, as humans, have done so much wrong to our world and our wildlife, it's time to help put things right.
