My first post. This.feels.awesome.
I just want to welcome everyone who is on this blog-karibuni yote. If you are reading this, it probably means we are of like mind- we love animals and want to be the voice of change that is so often-and when it comes to animals usually completely- ignored.
Here in Kenya we face so many problems that few take the time to stop to think about the lowly animals in our midst, I mean, when there is vast famine, corruption in government, drought, flooding, terrorism, the war in Somalia, HIV/AIDS -the lengthy list of Kenyas problems often makes something like animal welfare seem-insignificant? I mean just take a visit to KSPCA and the terrible conditions will be a testament to the fact that there is just not enough support for animal welfare.
So, here I am, an anonymous blogger. Will I really change this fact? Will I make a difference for the thousands of animals suffering in our borders, for the elephants being poached, the donkeys being whipped, the dogs being abused or the monkeys being shot? Who knows?
All I can do, therefore, is try. And rely on you, my fellow animal lovers, because together, we can bring to light so many issues that lie in the dark- we can magnify the screams of suffering from animals and force the people to hear them. WE ARE WATU WANYAMA.
Upendo-Love,
